Biography:

Mr. Santos joined the firm as an Associate in 2010, practicing in multiple areas of law with a focus on civil litigation and trial work. Prior to joining Bathgate, Wegener & Wolf, he worked as an Associate for the law firm of Morgan Melhuish Abrutyn in Livingston, New Jersey, working primarily with Jeffrey M. Kadish on general litigation and liability defense matters. He handled matters both in New Jersey and New York that involved premises/security liability, personal injury, product liability, professional malpractice, wrongful death, nursing home litigation, construction defects/accidents, dram shop liability, commercial disputes, real estate litigation, environmental litigation, and insurance coverage disputes.

Mr. Santos graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University’s College of Law and Whitman School of Management where he received his Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Administration. He was ranked sixth out of 276 students with a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.69, receiving the highest grade of the class in several courses. During his academic career, Mr. Santos was a member of the Syracuse Law Review, a research assistant to Assistant Professor of Law, Gregory L. Germain, a member of the Justinian Honor Society and, upon graduation, was inducted as a member of the Order of the Coif. After graduation in 2006, Mr. Santos accepted a one-year position as an Appellate Court Attorney with the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department, and became a confidential law clerk to the judges of the Third Department, assisting them with all types of various appeals. Mr. Santos speaks fluent Portuguese and proficient Spanish.
