Biography: Mr. DiCicco has practiced law with the firm of Bathgate, Wegener & Wolf, P.C. for 21 years and has been a partner with the firm for the past 16 years. Prior to joining Bathgate, Wegener & Wolf, Mr. DiCicco was an associate at Lowenstein Sandler for four years.
Mr. DiCicco is a member of the bar in New Jersey, the United States District Court for New Jersey, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Court of International Trade. Mr. DiCicco practices primarily in the areas of complex commercial litigation, employment litigation, real estate litigation, environmental litigation, insurance coverage litigation, bankruptcy litigation, probate litigation, general equity litigation, construction litigation and prerogative writ litigation. Mr. DiCicco also practices in the areas of real estate law, land use approvals, administrative law and corporate law.
Mr. DiCicco has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in State and Federal Courts, Bankruptcy Court and the United States Court of International Trade. He also has extensive administrative law experience before the Office of Administrative Law and various administrative agencies in the State of New Jersey. He has handled multimillion-dollar litigation and administrative matters for numerous corporate and individual clients.
Mr. DiCicco was lead counsel for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority in litigation against its general liability insurance carriers to obtain coverage for contamination to property at the Turnpike. The Turnpike recovered approximately $10,000,000 from its insurance carriers. Mr. DiCicco also has successfully brought wrongful termination and discrimination lawsuits for employees against several Fortune 500 companies and other employers. In the aggregate, those cases resulted in settlements or judgments in excess of $1,000,000. Mr. DiCicco has also represented owners, general contractors and subcontractors in construction disputes through mediation, arbitration and litigation. Some of the entities that he has represented in construction disputes are Clayton Concrete, Three G’s Plumbing and Heating, Kelso Construction, Dearborn Builders, The Howell Township Board of Education and Professional Security Systems.
Mr. DiCicco received a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, from Seton Hall University in 1980 and was a member of Phi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honor Society. Mr. DiCicco received his J.D., with honors, from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1983. While at Seton Hall Law School, he served as managing editor of the Seton Hall Law Review during 1982-1983. In 1982, as a member o the Seton Hall Law Review, he published a Note on Antitrust Law and the State Action Immunity Doctrine. From 1983-1984, Mr. DiCicco served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Morton I. Greenberg in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.
Mr. DiCicco served as councilman in Point Pleasant Beach, winning election in 2004. In that election, Mr. DiCicco led the Democratic Party to its first majority control of the governing body in the 117 year history of Point Pleasant Beach. From 2000-2005 and from 2007 to present, Mr. DiCicco has served as the President of the Democratic Organization in Point Pleasant Beach and from 2000-2004 he served as the Democratic Municipal Chairman. He is a member of the Ocean County Democratic Finance Committee and Democratic Liaison to the 10th Legislative District in New Jersey.
