Our Litigation Department reflects the expansive and divergent needs of our clients. In addition to engaging in general and complex commercial litigation, we have substantial administrative and court experience in antitrust law, securities law, employment law, products liability, partnership and shareholder disputes, medical and legal malpractice, legal ethics and disciplinary proceedings, insurance, real estate and construction cases. Three of our partners have widely recognized expertise in alternative dispute resolution of significant matters, and are often referred matters by other attorneys familiar with their accomplishments in mediation and arbitration.
Two of the Firm's Partners have been designated as Certified Civil Trial Attorneys by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. In addition to our extensive trial practice, the Litigation Department has had a particularly successful appellate practice before various intermediate appellate courts and the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Our litigation attorneys also have substantial experience in conducting arbitration proceedings, including arbitration of construction matters, securities claims and other disputes. The firm also has extensive experience in the representation of members of the bar and judiciary in legal ethics matters and disciplinary proceedings.
Our litigation department is comprised of attorneys experienced in litigation at all levels of the federal and state judicial system as well as in arbitration, mediation and administrative proceedings, thereby providing considerable depth of experience and resources. We are equipped to meet the needs of the business community as well as small and medium-sized businesses.
Our approach to litigation is always to protect the client's overall interests. There are occasions when it may make better business sense to settle a claim than run the risk of adverse publicity that could result from a public trial. Conversely, there are times when it makes better business sense to defend a small claim to avoid setting a precedent and inviting additional claims.
Additionally, there may be faster, more economical ways to resolve a dispute such as by arbitration, mediation or other forms for alternative dispute resolution (ADR). We are experienced in such alternative dispute procedures and our attorneys have represented clients in ADR matters and served as American Arbitration Association arbitrators and as mediators.
Each case is carefully considered on its particular merits by a team of attorneys. The resulting advice reflects our considerable experience in the field of litigation.
